Port Chester-Rye-Rye Brook EMS

2007 Ford Expedition EL Extended Length Model-ALS Special Operations Vehicle

Port Chester-Rye-Rye Brook just received their new ALS fly car, a 2007 extended length Ford Expedition with an all Whelen LED lighting package, Go Rhino pushbumper, custom storage cabinetry, Havis-Shields center console, custom graphics and more.

The lighting package includes a fully loaded 55 inch Freedom FX lightbar, rear window eight head Dominator (with time out system), TIR6 Super LEDs on the rear cargo door and four HideAway strobes in the tailights.  Two 400 Super LEDs, two TIR6s, headlight flasher and four side corner 400 LEDs provide the lighting to the front and sides.  A Whelen A6 and composite speaker provide the siren and overall system control.

The console is the Havis Vehicle Specific model, replacing the OEM storage compartment allowing for minimum disruption or removal of the OEM console in the non SSV models.  It contains the Whelen A6 controller, side mount armrest and two Kenwood TK series radios.  A Go Rhino pushbumper provides for more efficient mounting of the front warning components while also providing front end impact protection.  It incorporates the 3000 series step bumper with headlight protection wraparound bars.  It also mounts the quick connection box for an external jump start system.

The rear storage cabinetry is cutom built to incorporate compartments for (full length) backboards, ALS & BLS first responder equipment, MCI / ICS supplies, Ferno O2 cylinder brackets, safety equipment and turnout gear.  It extends into the second seating position to accommodate the backboards while providing additional storage accessible from the passenger rear doors and a protected area for electronics and communications mounting.  A cargo barrier was also installed to contain rear mounted equipment in the event of an impact.

A Kussmaul Auto Charge system with shoreline Auto Eject provide for battery maintenance and interior 110V access.  The custom graphics package incorporates their existing layout with specific recognition of the many sponsors and benefactors that made the vehicle possible.
