2007 Ford Expedition, Special Service Vehicle
The Nyack Community Ambulance Corps recently took delivery of their new BLS response vehicle.....a 2007 Ford Expedition, Special Service Vehicle.
Primary lighting is all LED, with a 55 inch Whelen Freedom lightbar, dual level 400 series and TIR6 Super LEDs in front, four TIR3s inside the rear cargo compartment (to provide supplemental lighting when the cargo door is raised), and a Sound Off eight head warning and traffic arrow bar inside the rear window. A Whelen four strobe HideAway kit in the rear tailights and a headlight flasher complete the lighting system. A Whelen 295HFSA6 and CPI dual speaker housing provide a 200 watt siren system.
The Go Rhino pushbumper provides front end impact protection and mounts the front lighting and siren speakers. A Kussmaul Auto Charge system allows for shoreline battery management while a Setina cargo barrier provides occupant protection from the equipment stored in the rear of the vehicle.
The custom storage cabinet contains compartments for first responder equipment and operational supplies, a glove box mount, O2 cylinder brackets, fire extinguisher, dual 12V power outlets and supplemental lighting for the cargo area.
A 24 inch Havis-Shields console contains the Whelen controller, communications equipment, dual cup holders, side mount armrest, supplemental switching for the radio repeater and backup alarm cutoff and two 12V power outlets. A custom bracket was also fabricated to accept the Kussmaul LED indicator panel to simplify identification of battery status.
The graphics package was designed to closely mirror the layout on their most recent ambulance and to maintain uniformity among their fleet.
"THANKS GO OUT TO THE NYACK COMMUNITY AMBULANCE CORPS. FOR THEIR CONFIDENCE IN SPECIALTY WARNING SYSTEMS"
